FAQ

Exploring Pony worlds...because we can

What is the Equestria Project?
The Equestria Project is a collective of people, interested in exploring worlds which are more or less comparable to the world portrayed in G4 of MLP. We act as ethnographers, going to study and collect information on these worlds and what they're like.
Is this a tulpa thing?
No.
How is it not tulpamancy?
Tulpamancy is an effort to induce dissociative trance-like state in order to hallucinate other people being around. Basically self created schizophrenia. This is a controlled NDE. It is a concentrated, hyper aware state of mind. There is no risk of schizophrenia inherent to it, you are left able to discern fact from fantasy still.
Is this reality shifting?
No. Reality shifting is tiktok LARP cooked up by people who want to pretend they're anime characters.
I saw something frightening, what should I do?
Disregard with caution and proceed onwards. If you feel actual danger, pull out of the experience.
I keep getting distracted by visions/sensations/weird shit
Disregard! This sort of thing is common, especially during the beginning. Just kind of note it and let it go. Eventually that will subside if you aren't spending mental effort on it.
I'm having alot of trouble with procrastinating...
Simplest way around that is to sit down and do it. You can come up with endless reasons to not do something, find the time and do it. Urge to procrastinate will clear up when you're consistent.
Why cant I fuck and date the locals?
This applies primarily to people who want to be contributors, I can't stop anyone obviously. But there's several reasons to not do this- ethics being one. Reliable data being the other. Safety being a third.
What is meant by doing no harm?
Don't do anything that could cause physical/mental/social harm to the Locals or their world(s). Contributors need to try to leave no footprints wherever possible.
Why did this world I went to look so different?
Infinite universes have infinite probabilities.
I keep falling out before I can get any exploring done
Sign of poor concentration. When you're not stable mentally during the projection, the experience falls apart. You need a stable and still mind. Go back to step one until you get the lights strong enough, then try again.
How can I tell if it's real?
The guide mentions this already- but if it's too good to be true, it's not real and you're dreaming. These worlds have a kind of "uncanny valley" effect to them, they're also never 100% perfect because real life is never 100% perfect. There will always be something a little "off" there. If you're able to control the content of what's happening there, it looks exactly the way you would imagine it to, and it's perfect...you're dreaming. Pull out and start again.
